Measuring temp ~ k series

hey i have a sony vaio pcg - k115m

id really find it useful if i could somehow measure the temp of the system, or cpu using software..

on my desktop, im running `motheboard monitor` which provides a great set of stats relatiing to the motherboard, inc cpu temp!

however, this useful program does not support the k-series motherboard (or about 90% of any other vaio motherboards)

anyone know of any other programs to display temp?

i tried searching the bios but i found it extremely limited and it basically displays very little info

thanks in advance,

Nick

I have exaxtly the same question (how to measure temp) on exactly the same series (K115).

That makes two of us:smileyworried:

A quick check learnt me that Windows OS does not offer this functionality and you need to get an external app to measure the temp.

Plz tell me I am wrong.

not too sure about that tho thats definately an option - tho it costs money,

ive heard alot about about this series of vaio, and others shutting down during gameplay etc..beacuse they've overheated

hence, there must be some device on the motherboard logging temp which instructs the computer to shutdown when it reaches a certain temperature

we just need a utilty that logs displays this temp in windows

temp is sometimes displayed in the bios (press F2 when u switch on the vaio) however the k series (and maybe others) uses a bios labelled Pheonix, which is very limited with reguards to adjusting components as well as providing information of the vaio

the search continues..

indeed that is what should be there, but at least on our model it did not do its job properly

We tried EVEREST but that did not work out

I can only agree with the above :slight_frown:

the search continues.

Hi

Mobilemeter is a tool, which displays the temps the CPU & HDD. It can be downloaded at http://www.geocities.co.jp/SiliconValley-Oakland/8259/

It works fine on my laptop.
