Is microsoft .net framework sdk needed

I have a vaio vgn-s2xp. I am trying to clean out some space on the c drive. I noticed that I have microsoft .net framework sdk installed. I think I downloaded this myself from microsoft so I am tempted to remove it. Can anyone confirm that this is not in the standard vaio package and it is safe to uninstall

The SDK is only needed if you are developing .NET apps. You shouldn't remove the .NET framework though.
