Have just bought a new VAIO with Windows 7. Now find I cannot connect my Sony DCR-HC51 with existing cable and card slot is woing size for my Sony DSC-P200. Stuck with Sony as I assumed all would be compatible. Both Sony Centre and PC World no help. Do I really have to but new camera's when these are perfectly good???? Any solutions would be great.
Your P200 should connect using a USB cable provided you update the software being used to PMB Ver 5.6.01

I am a little confused when you say the card will not fit. What Vaio do you have and which card are you trying to use? You may find you just need a cheap adapter like this: -
Your HC51 should connect using an iLink (Firewire) cable and using generic Windows 7 drivers.

Thankyou for the information.
I have have the VPCEC4SOE.
The slot for thr memory card is too small. Even the Sony Centre were surprised !!!
Apparently there is no firewire slot on this model.
Appreciate your response and I will check out your suggestions,
Many thanks

Many thanks Blencogo for suggesting adaptor. £2.95 & free p/p has solved the problem with the P200 - no need to buy a new camera as suggested by Sony !!!!!
