Hello,
Last week (Wed 8th Dec) I bought the KDL-40EX503 and out of the box everything worked fine including the iPlayer. Then on Friday, the iPlayer stopped working. 5OD is fine as YouTube, Love Film etc. I can also watch iPlayer on my computer without any problems.
The BBC iPlayer widget just takes ages to load, and when it does load the colour depth is only 16 colours so it looks horrible. If I then navigate through and find a program (takes ages) and select it it never plays. I just get the loading message then after a while it returns to the iPlayer selection page.
I found a Sony support link to download and install the latest firmware - but my TV already has the latest version installed (PKG4.085EUL-0108). The latest version download file is dated the 15th of November and was posted on the 25th of November. From this I can only conclude that my TV must have been delivered with an older firmware version and the auto update feature has upgraded my TV - and now the iPlayer doesn't work - thanks!
Is this a known problem ? Will it be fixed ? Can I go back to the earlier version of the firmware ? The serial number of my TV is 9039255
Thanks
Jon
Hi Jon
iPlayer on BRAVIA is delivered via MHEG (red button) which is limited in its colour palette unfortunately as the TV does not have a browser which could deliver the tradtitional iPlayer UI.
If its stopped working, I'd just run a factory reset which will flush the settings and restart the IPTV feature. Should be painless.
Thanks
