Hello
Is there a guide anywhere to taking apart this phone? Have looked and could not find.
My screen is broken and I have ordered a replacement (local repair centres couldn't source one or know what the Acro is).
Any help much appreciated!
Thanks
Tim

OK. Take appart instructions:
Required:
1. Small flathead screwdriver
2. Torx 6 screwdriver
3. Very small (000) philips head screwdriver
1. There is a smaller plastic piece on the bottom rear of the phone. There is a speaker port at the bottom of the phone. Use this point to pry off this cover.
2. Once you have the bottom cover off you can work on the main cover. Use the small flathead screwdriver to pry outwards from the bottom of the case where you have just removed the other cover. There are indentations on the side where you need to start prying it open.
3. When you have started taking it off continue to pry around. The plastic is a little flexible so should not be too hard and you're unlikely to damage the phone here.
4. With both the back covers off you now have 5 very small phillips head screws around the outside of the phone and 8 torx6 screws on the back of the phone. They each have a rubber grommit attached. You need to remove all of them.
5. Once you have the screws all removed you can then remove the screen. It is lightly stuck in place. From the bottom of the screen working around break the seal by prying lightly with the flathead.
6. Once you lift the screen out there are two ribbon cables that need to be detached. Pry lightly off the mainboard and the press connections will come free.
Done!
We do unfortunately not have any guide for taking the phone apart and i would not recommend that you try to repair the phone yourself. Try contacting your local Sony Xperia support and see if they can refer you to a service location that can repair your phone: http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/.
Hi
I have ordered a screen and will be attempting to take it appart and put it back together myself. I don't think it's worth sending off to a repair shop as it may not be working fully anyway. (Phone fell from top of car at speed and may have been run over - notification light still blinks and it still charges, so may still be working).
If it's not successful I will be prob buying an Xperia Z. If partially successfuly will give to one of the kids probably.
From what I can see, the bottom plate pops off to reveal I think T6 screws? I remember seeing someone's where this had popped off on its own?
Anyone had one partially appart?
Many thanks
Tim
If you decide to do it yourself, pls make some pictures or something of each step, so you might be the one who makes instruction, might be very usefull
