SMEC FLASH DRIVE IN WIN 8 64 bit

I am not able to update my Xperia S in Windows 8 64 bit .Once the phone gets restarted after downloading i recive error as "USb Device Unrecogonised",i am also able to see yellow mark on "SMEC Flash Device" on device manager.

Pls Suggest? how to solve thi problem.

Already try to answer you, but i dont know if the answer have arrived, these is a know problem from Windows 8 (64 Bits) internal support of USB 3.0 with the Kernel 3.0.8, with the new Kernel 3.4.0 will be solved, if you want to upgrade you can use the Windows 8 (32/64) with a USB 2.0 Port or a Windows 7 (32/64) with any version of Port.

Sorry i didnt explain right, do you have a USB 2.0 port in your computer? or its all USB 3.0?

If you have a USB 2.0 Port, please plug in your mobile by that port and do the same steps as you do for upgrade the mobile and i think now you will be able to upgrade, if not, please try to use a computer with windows 7 to upgrade your mobile or go to your mobile store to ask them for the upgrade.

I suggest you use this programme to update your phone > SUS

Do not connect your phone to your PC until you're asked to do so by SUS

And yeah, as LuCkEyBoY said, use 2.0 Port only.

MY Laptop mobel No.SVE14113ENB ,I think all are USB 3.0

Nopes, you got 3 usb ports as 2.0 and only one is 3.0

See carefully around the usb ports that you have in your laptop

The on with this type of printed design is USB 3.0, and all others are usb 2.0

Other way you need to go to device manager, or read manual of the Laptop
