Live with Walkman ICS update problem

I'm from the Philippines and I was waiting for the ICS update. I've read this thread http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/199753#199753 saying that an update is available for the SI number.. but when I checked, my number is a lower SI number i think it was 5375? sorry I havent rechecked but I was certain it was a lower SI number than 5757. I plugged my phone into PC Companion on MSC mode (MTC mode seems to fail in detecting my phone) to check and it notified me of an update. So I went with the update procedures. I was at the downloading step then when the download completed (sort of) the dialog shows "preparing" then suddenly the update failed. and an error message popped up saying the the update failed. Any help???? sorry for the long post

i had the same problem with the SUS later i found out the problem.

after switching off the phone i used to hold both the volume buttons but actually you had to hold only the volume DOWN button.

it worked for me now

to anyone got stuck while updating using PC Companion:

try installing Java Runtime Environment... it solve my same problem
