I Started ICS update for Neo V, but from one and half hour it got stuck at Preparing computer for software update.

and by using update service i get S1Boot download driver problem. Driver installation failed.

What is S1Boot download???

What is the reason for repairing phone software? for the abovementioned issue?

I can confirm that after I disabled the antivirus, PC Companion completed the update.

I've been trying to update to ICS....first i tried doing it via SUS...no luck in that...it kept getting stuck at 354.7/350MB....and i did this like 4 times...and all the four times...this was what happened...and then out of frustration i went for pc companion...and again the same...as the window shown below..it shows that the files are being downloaded...but after a few minutes the window automatically closes and then the second window opens...and asks me to repeat the same step before...it very frustrating....I consider buying sony was a huge mistake...i have recieved zero respone from anyone...fed up with the service and this update:smileyangry::smileysad:

All sorted. I waited for sometime after stucking and eventually an error message came. It prompt me to download Sony Ericson Update Engine . And that downloaded a 40MB file via a slow server [30kbps MAX]. Then install it and run the Sony PC Companion again. That's it. It will work like a charm! [If they say that the engine is already installed, go to the control panel and uninstall it before installing again]. That Download link is given below >>

I can assure that servers are NO GOOD. You'll have to wait quite a time to get done with whole thing. Even I'm not done yet with download completion of ICS!
