Today, after listening to music on headphones (leaving them plugged in and locking screen) earphone stopped working - I can't hear the other person talking while calling.
Tried plugging in and removing headphones several times. Even reset my phone. Didn't help.
I have ICS version 6.1.1.B.1.10
Tried Service Tests and earphone test fails.
Speakerphone and headphone works fine.
LiveWare Manager app (updated to Smart Connect) was of no help either.
It looks like a software glitch, like the phone thinks the headphones are still plugged in.
Any ideas and suggestions for fixing this?

Another question about ROOTing - does that void warranty? (in Latvia)
Solved! Go to Solution.
If the phone indicates that headphones are still plugged in even when they're not, it might actually be some hardware issue with the 3,5mm connector. Since a update/repair didn't solve the issue I'd suggest that you send it in to a service center so they can take a look at it.
Regarding rooting, it might void your warranty.

Yep, turned out to be a hardware problem. Replaced the speaker and now the phone is working fine.
