Can transfer music files on my computer using the Hap trasfer app to an external hard drive connected to my Sony hap-z1es?

I don't think this is possible. the transfer app can only be used to transfer content from your computer to your HAP.

You cannot with the app. But you can through network as the player is accessible like a computer. Use cable ethernet instead of wireless because it's so much faster.
