Hi - Has anyone experienced a loss of power on the new XD9305? Having switched TV off as normal yesterday, it is now dead.I have checked power and I have checked fuse - a 10Amp one and still nothing.I have also tried the button at the back and the remote ( and changed batteries).
Very frustrating as having bought the latest TV Sony have out ( in June), less than 6 months later TV is dead.

Free repairs are offered until 2022, regardless of the warranty status.
I don't think the reasoning behind that was to just fix every unit multiple times though, so whatever happened to your TV since the board was replaced the first time may be different. I'd imagine Sony would want to have the TV inspected again for more information.
Whether or not you want to go through with that is completely up to you though.

There is no solution to this problem, Sony have a design flaw for this model of Bravia TV, thus I post in the hope it is helpful to others as other posts on here were helpful to me.
I purchased my Bravia 55XD9305 from John Lewis back in February 2017. For many months the TV would crash and then that seemed to stop. Then in November 2019 the TV would not turn on no matter what I tried. The TV was under guarantee so John Lewis sent out a repair man who said it was the power circuit board that needed replacing and so he did. Then in March 2020 the TV would not turn on at all once again and so John Lewis then sent out a repairman. The same repair man replaced the power circuit board once more and he assured me that it would not fail again. Well, guess what! In February 2021 the TV won't turn on which is now the third time the power circuit board has failed!
I notice Sony have again extended the deadline for requesting a free repair.
There is no point in repairing the power circuit board it clearly has a design flaw! My only hope is that because the TV is under John Lewis' 5 year guarantee that they offer me some sort of refund, £1,250 is a lot of money! I spent that amount of money because I thought I was buying quality. After buying numerous products from Sony I will never buy Sony products ever again!
Hi BraviaRP , have you tried contacting Sony and do the repair through them directly? Or was it always with the retailer?
Hi Hannah Any negativity below is not aimed at you.
In order to keep within John Lewis' 5 year guarantee I have to seek repair from them. John Lewis send a third party to repair the part and they stated they order the part directly from Sony. As the consumer I have no power so I can only hope that John Lewis have vetted their third party repair company to be legit in ordering spare parts from Sony. I also can only hope that Sony have been proactive in communicating with retailers regarding this matter.
In my view, in a ideal world I should be able to go to John Lewis to report a fault > John Lewis report the fault to Sony > Sony send out their vetted repair person.
I've seen it posted elsewhere, so if anyone reading has the nerve to suggest that it might be my home's electrical wiring, don't bother posting. It is not my electrical wiring, I had qualified electrician check the wiring and then I had second electrician inspect the wiring to confirm the first electrician was telling the truth! So take a break from your keyboard and go for a jog!
It's definitely not something from your end, Sony made a public announcement that this particular model has a known issue and that they're offering free repairs for it until next year (which is a total of 5-6 years since the model was made, I believe it was 2016, but I may be wrong).
Hopefully it gets fixed quickly for you (ideally already fixed by now).

I have the same issue that the TV will not power on. Contacted Sony but the will not repair it as I can not find the VAT invoice from 4 years ago. I am disgusted that they use this as an excuse not to repair it. They know its a major problem.
If you can't find the invoice, you could just contact the store and have them send over another copy.
Where does it say that you can get your TV replaced outside of warranty??
