i have just updated with the latest software that remedied the juddering problem when playing 4k from a set top box (sky q)
i just had an issue where the screen was black but had audio in apps, sky q was fine. this was in netflix, youtube and others. after clearing cache the only one that semi worked was netflix where the picture had green artifacts across it.
a restart didnt help and neither did clearing the cache in all apps. the only way i sorted it was to do a full factory reset.
any ideas what caused this and if there is a simpler fix if it happens again.

It has been noticed that sometimes after a firmware update, sometimes a factory reset is needed. I can only guess that it clears internal caches and any 'gremlins' etc.
Other times a 'soft reset' is all that is required (i.e. reboot of TV)

That's the strange thing, i did do a factory reset the other day straight after the update. Also, things were working fine until yesterday.
