KD-65XG8505 - Channel 4 Catch Up stopped working

I’ve had the above tv for a few years and have watched Channel 4 catch up multiple times until last week when it stopped working.  Selecting it from the tv menu gives the beep to confirm selection, but it doesn’t open the player. My tv is a Freesat model, so I have never had a normal aerial connected not have I ever used youview, in fact I don’t have an aerial that could even reach the telly.  I have also tried casting from my iPad and when doing so, it starts to play the adverts but brings up an error when the programme starts. I can’t understand why it worked last week, but not now.  Heellllpppp

Can I ad that ITVX is also not working.  I rarely use that so hadn’t noticed.

Try uninstalling the latest update. It is known to fubar otherwise working Sony TVs in all sorts of ways,

I have this keep happening to me too. I have a different model, but after much messing about, I have realised that the problem seems to be linked to an update to the YouView app on the TV, which seems to control all of the terrestrial catch-up services (well the common ones at least).

To get things working again I have to (and I suggest you will have to do something similar) navigate to settings, then apps, then find the YouVew app, which on my TV is called Live TV and Catch Up, and then in the options take the one that says remove updates. Everyday I do this, everyday my catch-up service is returned to normal. 

All I need to discover now is how long it is going to be before Sony fix this issue, or a way of stopping it updating automatically.
