I was checking the power consumption of some things and I have noticed that my tv does not go into standby, power stays at 30W, when switched off from the remote. It should drop to <1W. It does occasionally go to standby for a short time but then reverts to 30W.
Hey, it is mentioned in the manual of the TV that Specified standby power is reached after the TV finishes necessary internal processes and that standby power consumption will increase when your TV is connected to the network. It also can reach 33 W in software/EPG update mode. You can find this info here in page 9. I hope this helps
I have read the manual, but the power has stayed at the 30W level for a couple of days. I have turned off AirPlay, I read that that can be a problem. Late last night it did drop back into standby, but it was at the 30W level for a while. I had turned the tv off from the mains last week, as we were away, so maybe I missed an update and it was catching up. I will keep monitoring the situation.
Yea you should keep it monitored and save the reads, and make sure that it's not updating individual apps as well on any of the guide services. And if it's still the same, I guess you're due a call to Sony.
Hi,
I resorted to a factory reset which has fixed the problem. It does take up to an hour before going into standby.
