Accoustic Center Sync.

Is anyone out there using the Accoustic Center Sync function with their tv and sound bar?? If so, is it causing them any problems??

I have an A95k and am using this as the centre speaker for my HT-A5000 - which I think sounds much better. However, I do notice that the tv makes a loud click when I switch it off after using it as the centre speaker. If I just use the sound bar then the tv is silent as it switches off (as you would expect). If I use only the tv speakers, it is still silent. It is only when using the Center Sync facility it makes the loud / strange noise.

It's not a deal breaker, obviously, but I wondered if anyone else had noticed anything like this.

Also, has Center Sync caused anyone any sort of lip synch issues that they weren't having previously?? I have slight synching issues with my set-up anyway but can't help thinking the Accoustic Center Sync is making them worse.

Thanks

Hey @MegaRid Regarding the loud click you hear when you switch OFF the TV, is it something as explained here? If not, please contact Sony Support here
Your Sound bar supports the A/V Sync setting on your TV, try to set A/V Sync to Auto as explained here and test again. I hope this helps.

Hey @Elodin,

Thanks for the reply and the links.

No, the noise isn't as described in the link. It happens specifically as / when I switch the tv off and is as a result of me turning it off. It isn't caused by heat or processing (or anything like that). I do have a case open, with Sony Support, for something different. I will raise this issue with them if / when I get that sorted out.

Yeah, A/V sync is on 'auto' already - there is still a delay. I also have 'Pass Through' mode 'enabled', meaning the tv shouldn't be doing any sound decoding. Still a delay. I thought having a Sony tv and sound bar, and using Accoustic Center Sync, would result in no delay (Sony's blurb talks about what you hear being exactly where you see it on the screen). Maybe this isn't the case - Sony Support have advised delay is inevitable??!!

Has anyone any thoughts on this?? Is delay unavoidable when using a sound bar??

Does this happen if you try it on different sockets? Are you using extensions?
And about the delay, if you have the A/V sync set to on, then yea there's no escape really, unless you can manually adjust the speeds.

Hey @SkyNet404,

What do you mean, sockets?? Do you mean different plug sockets?? I'm no sure what difference this would make?? I do know extension leads can be the source of issues but I don't have a lot of choice here - the tv is plugged into the wall but the sound bar, Sky Q and PS5 are all plugged into the same 4-way plug adaptor / socket.

Your reply also seems to suggest that having A/V sync on is going to make lip sync issues inevitable. Have I read that right?? Why is that?? If anything, I would have thought the opposite should be true?? In any case, I have mine set to 'Auto' and the sound bar only gives the option to delay the sound but it is the sound that is lagging behind....

Yea I mean a different plug socket, sometimes extensions or faulty sockets/fuses can cause the devices to cause buzzing or clicking noises.
Also, no you should have it on, but I mean that in some cases A/V sync doesn't eliminate the issue 100%, hopefully that's not your case.
