Is it just me, or did they take out Transfer Storage?
Or is it just located somewhere else now? I see they have "Free Up Space"
Usually, when viewing Main Storage you can do a transfer of Data from Main Storage to SDCard. It did a good job of essential photos and music to SDCard. straggling data when you forget to switch to SDCard.
Just apps other apps were the problem; like Snapchat and Sketch placed their folders outside of Pictures; which get missed by the Transfer Data.
Once again; a useful software side of Sony gets lost in it's the mobile successor. I question; am I really using a smartphone? It seems to always reset to Zero after each supposed "new" Sony phone.
Sure I can use a File Manager; but why. WHY should I? Then I can be using any other branded mobile phone. It's it about convenience.
Xperia X10 Plus
Xperia XZ2 Premium
Transfer apps to Sd has officially been terminated by Google but transfer of data should be present.
Here's mine on XZ3
You say that apps can't be sent to SD anymore, but I'm not 100% on that. If I plug in an NTFS formatted HDD into the phone via USB it cannot be read (God I miss Windows phones...). Instead it offers to format the drive, but gives the old option to choose encrypted internal or plain external format. So, whilst I've not tried it, it may be that formatting an SD as NTFS could trigger the option when placed in the phone's SD slot. If not, another approach would be to connect the NTFS SD via a USB reader and trigger the internal format before moving it to the internal SD slot. It might just work.
This feature was removed by Google on Android 6 and later.
Sony stopped providing this feature in the Xperia XZ1 series, XZ2 series, the Xperia XZ Premium, the Xperia XA2 series, Xperia XZ3 and newer products.
