New SZ3HP = Graphic Card problems.

Hello everybody, and thanks for listening.
I actually have a big problem with my brand new notebook.
I bought it for a Geforce Go 7400 and my system is telling me that I own a Intel gma 945.
Is it normal, or have I been messed up ?

Welcome to Club Vaio,

You are correct it states in the Specs that the SZ3HP has nVidia GeForce Go 7400 chipset.

Take it back to the retailer and ask them to sort the problem..

I first would like to thank you for your fast answer.

I noticed slow applications starting and unability to update nvidia mobile drivers, that's what ticked me.

I'll get to my retailer tomorrow in the morning, and make a fast change.

Before you take it back, check HERE

You have two graphics cards and need to switch to the nVidia manually.

That's right, I have two graphic cards.
But I had already tested both configuration, stamina and speed.

None of them shown me a Geforce Go 7400 as I can see it on my changed SZ3HP, that was new, with no scotch bands removed this time.
At the after sale service, he shown that something has gone wrong with the ram and also the graphic card, because somebody had already used this one, and put it back in the storage area...

They made a change fast, and now I really have a brand new SZ3HP.
Unfortunately they were out of stock for SZ3HB...

I thought there was a problem as you stated that you were unable to update the Nvidia graphic drivers..

I'm glad it's all sorted now greedyloo, however that's very bad service though supplying you with a used Vaio..

While you're talking about it, I still can't update Nvidia's drivers on the laptop.
Tried both dedicated drivers (Notebooks Go 7 series and also classical all Geforce/quadro/tnt drivers) and still can't figure how to update them...

Do you know if there's a special thing to do ?

Yeah bad reliability for this shop, but I hope they will not sell the same laptop to anybody else...

I am really not suprised by this - I've seen a lot of these machines in Sony Style's Factory Outlet, all they do is gut the machines fit new hardware and say they've been refurbished. At least you know what you're getting.

With a new VAIO you expect a NEW machine.
