Can not boot up into windows - keeps looping

can anyone help - Customer Support closed at Weekend!!
WHen I switch on - I can not get into Windows(Xp) - the booting image appears then it powers down and starts again and keeps looping.
This may have occured after battery ran out...
any ideas please

Can you boot into safe mode press F8 repeatedly when booting your Vaio..

Thank you - have done this - I now have a screen of various meesages/threads all reading
multi(0)disk(0)redisk(0)partition(2)\windows\system32\Drivers\....etc all ending .sys

it then does the same as before and switches off and loops back to reboot....
??

Hi Philip and welcome.

Have you tried choosing "Last Good Configuration" from the screen produced by tapping F8 at boot-up?

It sounds like your System Files have become corrupted and choosing this option will force Windows to use the settings from the last time your Vaio booted successfully.

whatever I do it will not get past the Windows XP booting up window....?
