screen flickers during video call

whenever i receive or make video call using my Xperia X the screen starts flickering (The effect is somewhat similar to the effect while taking screenshot.) i tried to sit against the light source thinking that that could be a factor causing it but it wasn't the case.

please note there aren't any network issue.

Is anyone else facing this issue ?? any suggestions ?

Hello! Which app do you use to make the video call? And do you have a temporary glass or a screen protector on your phone?

it happens on Whatsapp as well as on Google Duo video calls.

yes i do have screen protector but it has precise cut outs for front camera and sensors.

I don't think its a hardware issue or else i would have faced similar issue while using front camera.

it would be nice to hear from the community if they are facing similar issue with video calls, it would help me determine if it is a optimization issue with the video calling application.

I don't have a problem with my X, but I use Hangouts and messenger for my video calls. If anybody uses the same apps with our friend, please reply.

Be sure that the proximity sensor is not obstructed.

You can do tests of sensors from within the Support App on your phone.
