2G/3G operation

Good day to all,

Please advice how can I choose to operate the phone 2G or 3G.I try from settings->more->mobile networks->companys. When I reach the last point it appears all the available companys in 2G and in 3G. But when I choose my company in 2G operation, it;s working for few minutes and then it turns but itself again in 3G. I am asking this because in 2G operation it saves battery. I want to choose when I work in 2G or in 3G.

just turn off your data plan. or settings > more > mobile networks > select GSM that will be Edge/2G

or use a 2G/3G widget

Thank you for your anwer. I follow the steps and appears only the 2G networks. Actually I choose only the GSM networks and not the WCDMA/GSM which was selected by default.

Can you tell me where to find this widget (2G/3G)?

Note that it's only a shortcut that opens the correct menu option,

An App can't actually do the switch without a rooted phone.

Thank you very much for your answer. I install the app it's very helpful, eventhough it is just a short to the correct menu. By using this you are making less clicks.
