I know Sony supports development of their phones and I am wondering if it's possible to unlock the bootloader on the Xperia m without problems, I've checked my model c1905 service menu and rooting status allows bootloader unlocking but the phone itself is not listed on Sony's safe list. Any advice?

I know about that that's the reason why I'm asking as the Xperia M (C1904 & C1905) Is not listed on the supported devices but on mine (c1905) rooting status allows bootloader unlocking so wondering if it would be safe seeing as it allows it on the phones service menu but jot listed on the supported devices

Dunc.. uliwooly gave you the link where all the info is available. It clearly states that you first need to check whether bootloading is allowed in your device. If it is then you follow the steps as given there. There is already a disclaimer that standard users should not be trying this. Simply put, the bootloading unlocking is allowed but those who do it of course do it at their own risk. It is allowed but i guess not recommended and ur warranty may/will be void

suggest you do it with someone elses M first ... not mine tho

http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/supported-devices supported devices list does list the M which is the C1904/1905.

Firstly when I posted this question the c1904/c1905 was not in the list at first then it came on a few days after that's why I clicked solved, just im helping developers on xda on this device and trying to source info for them same with my other question about dumping the system and boot from the phone as it has now been done. Also we have a test cwm recovery for it but can't get it to boot into it at the moment but won't take long to sort out

Yes OTG does work on the C1904 Xperia M and should work on the dual too. See that you are using the right cable as there were problems with some cables not being configured the way the M wants them to be. Sony should ideally have provided an OTG cable to avoid confusion.
