Won't switch off Sony M4 Aqua

Phone started playing up. Now won't turn off or reboot and is getting very hot.I have tried to turn off by the memory card slot to no avail also holding on and volume button together for a set period of time. Still not swith ing off or rebooting!!

remove the SIM card, by any chance, did you rooted the phone, unlocked the bootloader, flashed the phone or how did this happened?

Tried taking the Sim card out and still wouldn't switch off. It just happened out of the blue yesterday. Thought it was a one of glitch but happened again today. Only swithed off when battery ran out.

Hard to tell what's wrong, once the phone it's off > connect it to a wall charger > once the LED is green DO NOT turn it on > run XC on your computer > repair the phone > BUT make sure that the phone remains off

Thank you. I have managed to get it going again by letting the battery running out and immediately doing a factory reset when it turned on. I will keep the info you provided incase it plays up again.
