I've been having this problem pretty much since performing the factory reset; I've reset my phone several times and that hasn't fixed the problem. As far as I can tell, there are no media files in internal storage that aren't part of the phone's default; I haven't taken any photos or downloaded any files. I didn't think to try booting into safe zone, though - I did that and it seems to have solved the problem, at least while in safe mode. I don't know why that worked, but I'm glad it did. Thanks!

I recently had to factory restore my M4 Aqua phone due to a boot error. Since doing this, any attempt to move apps from internal phone storage to my 64GB micro SD card, which still has at least 8GB of free space remaining, has failed with the error message "Not enough storage space". I can't understand what storage space it could possibly need to make this transfer that it does not have, as there should be at least 400MB free on device storage, and there is easily more than enough space on the SD card. What is going on?

Hard to tell, could you clear up a bit more internal storage?

Not without deleting the only app I still have on my phone - which is the one I'm using as a test to move onto my sd card. I can't believe that it takes >500mb of free space in internal storage to move a 20mb app.

if you only have one app on the internal storage then you could move some media files, you could boot in safe mode or you can restart the phone and check again, btw which app is causing this problem?

My M4 Aqua seems to have stopped letting me transfer to SD (saying not enough storage when there is over 7Gb on SD card) have factory reset and formatted sd card. Have also tried moving them over one by one to no avail. Didn't fancy doing the ADB work around as I was worried that Pokemon Go would no longer work if I start playing around with settings
