Sony Bravia KDL-46W4100

I was given a Sony Bravia without a remote, watched it just fine with no problems for 2 days, today it turned itself off in stand by mode, and wont turn off or come back on! I did read solutions to turn off ECO mode or timer but i cant even do that since i am not sure where ECO mode is in the settings, i unplugged the t.v. and it did reset and came back on but while looking for ECO mode, it went into stand by mode again.... can someone help this newbie with his "new" Sony t.v.? Please.

Ok, so i got the t.v. to come back on, went to settings, still could not find ECO mode but turn off "go to stand by mode of no source is available" watched 2 minutes of a movie amd back to stand by mode it went! 😡

Does this model have an ECO mode????

According to Google, this seems to be a USA model. The Power Saving options seem to be under the General Set-up section of the settings as it shows on page 42 of the Manual.

Thank you, i did find it in general settings, turned off the mode but the problem continues, the t.v. goes into power saving mode after a few minutes. Sent from my Boost Mobile Phone.

Have you tried checking the PC Power Management option as well?

Yes, i turn on the t.v., and located the PC power management option and it too is turned off. Minutes after that, it went to stand by mode again. Could it be that the t.v. needs an update?? Like via a Wi-Fi connection?? Im am really at a loss here.

That model appears to be from around 2008/9 so it's quite likely that it's got a fault, it doesn't have smart features and no update is likely to cure this problem I doubt. I have the KDL32W4000 which I got in 2008..... did someone give this to you because they replaced it as it wasn't behaving proplery I wonder?

when your TV turns off, does the led light flash a certain amount of times, sometimes the led flashes 7 times to indicate a type of fault etc. Have you tried plugging it into another power socket in case there's a bad/loose connection there which could cause the TV to turn itself off.

Thank you for all your help. This t.v. is from 2008. When it does come on it still has a beautiful picture and great sound but i think i am going to get rid of it myself and buy something new. 😔Sent from my Boost Mobile Phone.
