Freeview to Freeview Play

I have a KD-49XF7596 which I think is 2018. It has YouView and basic Freeview. Am I right in thinking I can't upgrade it to Freeview Play? Looks like I need to buy a box which I don't really want to do. Thanks in advance.

To my knowledge this is not yet possible.

But maybe there's an app in the future.

Thanks for such a prompt reply.

I suspected that was the case, which I must admit surprises me. I believe Freeview Play is now quite a bit ahead of YouView but don't know if they have plans to upgrade and catch up. I'm ditching Sky in a few weeks so just doing some homework on what I can use instead. YouView/Freeview plus the installed Now app should do it!
