Info bar everytime adverts are on sky q with Sony Bravia KD49XF7073

Can any one help this is highly annoying - also does it when loading a 4k movie switches from 480 - 1080 and the then the hi Res but tell me everytime - I don't want to see the info bar constantly

Hi M4RC2009,

Sadly, there's no way to disable this info bar entirely. I guess you can press on the "i+/?" button to hide it when it appears.

Hi @M4RC2009 This can be switched off on an Android TV but sadly, as already said it cannot be switched off on a Linux TV (KD-49XF7073). Sony has known about this bug for several years but don’t appear to want to fix it or don’t care.

If you are willing to put up with degraded audio, change the Audio output of your Sky Q box to Normal. This means the audio format doesn’t change between SD, HD and UHD or even when adverts appear which triggers the Info Banner. Try a search on “Other TVs” for Info Banner on Linux TVs.
