Hi,

Need some help please.

I have a Sony Bravia KD55XF9005 and the default seems to be as 4:3 ratio and i cannot see an option to change this.

When i am watching some programmes the top and bottom of the screen is cut off and in black.

Any ideas how to fix this please.

Welcome to the Sony Community.

Can you tell me if you are getting a 4:3 ratio at all times?

Please also note that Programmes in 4:3 aspect ratio will have bands on the left and right sides of the screen.

Many thanks for your reply.

The problem seems to occur mostly when watching UHD content on SKY Q

The top and the bottom of the screen is being cut off there is just a black area.

I thought the idea of 4K is for a better picture and at the moment i dont seem to be getting that.

Hi kerinda,

This seems to be related to the content you are watching as the TV is just displaying the signal from Sky.

Try to make sure that you select Enhanced HDMI format on the TV from Home - Settings - External inputs.

If this remains I guess it would be from the content.
