How to resolve Verticle Stripes on Vaio VGC-V3S Screen?

Hi, I have a Sony Vaio VGC-V3S which was PCV-E31M previously and have found it to be a great computer.

However, I have now found the screen to be covered almost 85% with verticle stripes appearing and cannot get rid of it!

Please advise how I can resolve this problem. Thanks.

Do these stripes only show when Windows has loaded or do you get the same problem in the BIOS screens?  If they just show in Windows it is probably a software problem.  If they show in the BIOS screens then it is likely to be hardware malfunctioning and may need a repair.

I presume you have tried reinstalling the graphics driver?
